The company has started the construction of the world’s largest scooter factory and going to set up a 500-acre mega factory in Krishnagiri in the state of Tamil Nadu.

This new facility will not only cater to the demand in India but will act as an export hub for Ola Electric as well. With this new plant, Ola Electric will be exporting electric scooters to some global markets like Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

This company has now revealed its upcoming electric scooter for India and it is the upcoming Ola’s first-ever electric scooter that will have its styling very similar to that of the Etergo Appscooter.

About Scooter:

Ola Scooter Features

Ola Electric Scooter is an Electric Scooter and it has an electric motor that generates a torque of 50 Nm. It gets Disc brakes in the front and rear and the curb weight of the Scooter is 74 Kg. It has Tubeless Tyre and Alloy Wheels.

Highlight of Ola Electric Scooter:

  • Fuel Type Electric
  • Motor Power  6000 W
  • Range 80 km/charge
  • Kerb Weight 74 Kg
  • Seat Height 1155 mm

The prime feature of the Ola electric scooter is that it gets all-LED lighting along with bits like a fully colored TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and more.

Currently, the premium electric scooter segment in India has some challenging players like the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and also, the TVS iQube. All these are sub Rs 2 lakh scooters expect Ola Electric to launch its offering at a competitive price point.

We are expecting a figure of close to Rs 1.25 lakh and the official India launch of the electric scooter will likely happen later this year.

The Ola Electric scooter looks a lot like the Etergo AppScooter, but it has completely re-engineered the vehicle, and that it will feature internals that has been designed and engineered for India.

The company also mentioned that, unlike the AppScooter which has a restricted top-speed (owing to EU regulations), the soon-to-be-launched Ola Scooter will have “Industry-Leading speed and range.”

The Ola Electric scooter can reach speeds in excess of 100kph, but we’ll have to wait for official information before we can confirm the same. The scooter is likely to have a similar banana-shaped removable lithium-ion battery pack as seen in the Etergo scooter and this scooter gets the same unusual single telescopic front suspension.

But it will likely be tweaked for our riding environment and also to keep costs low. This scooter gets a quirky, modern-looking headlight with twin-pod LEDs that are encased within an LED strip.

The company has stepped up testing its soon-to-be-launched scooter with in-house focus groups as well as in customer groups against other conventional and electric variants in the market.

The Ola Electric Scooter is expected to be priced competitively against the current petrol scooters, as the company looks to tap the 20-million unit’s two-wheeler market in India.
